Carpenters, dentists, plumbers and masons, not to forget cleaning service providers including laundry service providers – all need a website. In fact, the sensible lot among them have already made the move. Surprised? I do not imagine this should come as a surprise. But for those who have been taken aback, wake up! It is quite a fact. Look around you. There are businesses thriving on marketing skills alone. It does not matter what you sell. At least it does not matter if it is the best in your category. If packaged and presented well, and if you can manage to reach out to your target audience, you have buyers looking for you and waiting to hire. So we were talking about a website for a carpenter! Quite literally. People have moved on from the Stone Age. There are remote controls and robots to take care of manual labor. Instead of meeting at a pub or a friend’s place, people prefer meeting online, on Facebook! They like, share, review, rate, comment and communicate in the virtual world, because that’s convenient. So, when you are marketing yourself or your business, are you doing enough to reach out to this ever growing audience who are constantly looking for stuff they need online? No matter what form of marketing strategy you adopt for your business, today it is expected that you would have a website which will have all information that you want people to know about your business. There are numerous plus-points of having a website for your business that you may never have considered. It is one compact real-time brochure...

A web design and development company, worth its name, should be able to consider your firm’s concerns clinically, get the situation at hand analyzed by experts, and offer precise solution to curb and maneuver the crisis and pull you out of it. And it does not end there. It should be able to position you in a manner that helps you reach the heights you deserve, given your strengths. Google the keywords and you get millions of results for web design and development company, web design company, or web development company India. Most of these companies do decent work in terms of web design and development. And yet, there are few who are chosen over the others. So, what exactly are the parameters that determine why a client would choose your company as a web development partner? Let’s review some potential factors. A primary factor of course is how you deal with a client’s first contact. Your initial approach speaks volumes about your communication channels, your professional attitude (or lack of it!) and how eager are you to convert the warm lead into a customer. More often than not, how you deal with this first query is how you tackle business queries that need to be responded to. A professional company would immediately acknowledge the query and assure a response within a timeline. And of course, follow it up with a response within the promised timeline. A significant factor is the business development skills of your company. A person with sound knowledge, lacking the skill to put it across the table in a meaningful way is a half hearted...

An effective ‘404 error: Page Not found’ page

A ‘404 Page Not Found’ error is common, happens on many sites. Even if you try to control the occurrence of this on static websites, no matter how many (web) pages it may contain, it is impossible to control or completely remove such links on dynamic websites which may have millions of pages. Therefore, despite best efforts to remove any broken link or missing content, when you have a visitor who chances upon a link which leads to a ‘Page Not Found’ error, how you redirect the visitor and compel him to stay on your website is the trick. A 404 Page Not Found error is a response sent by the server when the server fails to identify a particular link within a website. Research shows that once a visitor lands on a 404 error page, there is 40% chance of him leaving your website for good. That’s quite a high figure. So, what can be done to bring this lost visitor back? Well, for one, the visitor for sure is confused with the error message, and it does not show very well on your company or your website, at least a non-techie visitor may not realize that it is something beyond the website owners’ control. It may appear as a careless error or, that, there are missing links and incomplete data on the website. Part of the damage control can be done by customizing the page design to look similar to your other pages. This takes away part of the surprise element from the visitor by showing a familiar layout, and also goes onto show that the site...

Worried about a slow site? There are ways you can boost up your site’s speed by following the simple steps strategically. Upgrade your software, theme and plug in. This will also protect you from malware. Ensure you have chosen a fairly light theme.  Keep a regular check on all the plug-ins you have used on your WordPress. Remove any plug-in that you do not need or use anymore. If your purpose is served without using a particular plug-in, that’s obsolete and has no role to play. Avoid bulky codes. Usage of the W3 Total Cache plug-in will help you enhance your site speed. An image intensive website will be slower than others. For any images you use on the site, restrict the size and resolution to a minimum (of course, not small enough to affect the look of your site or the design). The same is applicable for the external images you are linking to. So choose carefully, and limit it to a minimum. Limit the use of JavaScript. When displaying archives, show excerpts from each post instead of displaying the entire post.  Check with your hosting company. A good host will make a lot of difference. Check and get rid of spam. The above should be able to serve you well and put you back on track. If the above points fail to improve your site’s performance, contact iAdroit today for a site analysis, and leave the rest with us. Your site will be in expert hands and you will see a marked...

Your website is like your virtual office where visitors step in now and then, spend some time going through what you do and what you have to offer, before they leave. A visitor who plans to invest in your services is not one you are bothered about- he is interested anyway. They key is here is to make him believe that he has taken the right decision by choosing you over your competitors. The other and more important concern is to get those visitors hooked on to your site, who chanced upon your site. They do not know you, have not heard of you, and it’s like an opportunity to impress them or they go to someone else. Now think of your office, store or studio, where you or your staff takes personal care to show your visitors around, make them feel welcomed, at home and sow that you are keenly interested in assisting them. An interactive website refers to such features introduced to your site which are aimed at enhancing your website’s capability to engage customers in a manner that they find a good reason to stay on the website, enjoy meaningful interaction, and keep coming back for more. This uphill task can be achieved by taking care of a few areas on your website. First, design wise, upgrade to a responsive design (if you already haven’t!). With multiple gadgets, mankind is now on the move 24*7, and need to connect just as frequently. By limiting your site to the traditional viewing experience, you are not only limiting your viewers to come see you, even those who do...

One of the most vulnerable moments of your online presence is when your website is hacked or your web identity compromised. And it can happen to anyone of us. Just for the record – hackers do not just go after established names, nor are the super successful sites on the internet safe from hackers. Not unless they continuously make an attempt to stay up-to-date and follow a stringent policy to stay clean and unviolated. So, we are discussing the ways to stay away from hackers. Is it possible? Well, to some extent, it certainly is. At least, we would (and should) do everything in our power to prevent being an easy prey to malicious attackers. Below, I have discussed how a few simple precautionary measures can save us hours, even weeks of misery. When we are hacked, it is because there is a loophole somewhere in the system, a loose-end, which the hacker exploits. It could be in terms of outdated software or plug-ins, unclean codes or even chained/ connected accounts. In fact, sometimes it could even result from the security questions we set to retrieve our passwords. We freely share the answers on the web through the various social networks we form. Information like birthday, mother’s maiden name, pet’s name, school, university and city where you were born could be all the hacker needs to violate your account and identity. SO now to prevent web identity theft or our websites being compromised by external attackers, the following steps could be a start. Of course this is not equivalent to having an expert diagnose your site for further fine...
